China Construction Fifth Engineering Division Corp Ltd (CSCEC5B) has set up its regional headquarter base in the Urumqi Economic and Technological Development Zone (Toutunhe district) in Urumqi, capital of Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region on Nov 13.
The company's main objections are to undertake housing and infrastructure construction projects in Urumqi and expand its business to countries and regions along the Belt and Road Initiative in the future.
With an annual turnover of nearly 300 billion yuan ($45.2 billion), the company has invested in projects in Xinjiang region, including the Altay Expressway project with an investment of over 9 billion yuan and the construction of urban railways and municipal roads in Fukang city with an investment of 7 billion yuan.
Zhou Yong, president of China Construction Fifth Engineering Division Corp Ltd, said that with the deepening of the Belt and Road Initiative, Urumqi, and even Xinjiang, are ushering in the golden era of great development. The company's Xinjiang regional headquarter base will also lead Xinjiang enterprises to more opportunities in the countries along the Belt and Road Initiative.
This year, Toutunhe district has invested 58.5 billion yuan to the steady development and livelihood improvement of the zone. The new settled company in the zone will promote the urban and economic development of the zone, according to Zhang Junxiang, director of the administrative committee of the Urumqi Economic and Technological Development Zone (Toutunhe district).
